Outgoing Liverpool winger Harry Kewell has played down reports linking him with a move to Portsmouth.

The FA Cup winners have reportedly offered a lucrative contract to the midfielder, who has been released by Reds manager Rafael Benitez after five injury-blighted years on Merseyside.

"There´s always been speculation about my club involvement," Kewell said in Sydney on Tuesday. "Apparently my agent did it (a deal with Portsmouth) while he was on the plane coming over to Australia, so I don´t know how he´s done that."
