Schuster plays down Ronaldo link

Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has played down his side´s chances of tempting Cristiano Ronaldo away from Manchester United this summer, insisting he would rather spend his time thinking about more realistic targets.

Madrid have long been admirers of Ronaldo and speculation in Spain has been rife that the Primera Liga champions could be set to launch a summer bid for the Portuguese superstar, with reports of a £100million bid being mooted.

When asked following his side´s season-ending 5-2 win over Levante on Sunday whether he would like to have Ronaldo at the Bernabeu, German Schuster said: "I would like to have a lot of players. But I don´t think that it is possible that Cristiano Ronaldo will be with us.
