Eriksson plans ahead

Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has already begun planning for next season despite mounting speculation over his position at Eastlands.

Owner Thaksin Shinawatra this week expressed his frustration at the team´s recent form and said he will conduct a review of the club at the end of the season.

But Eriksson insists he is only interested in improving his team on the field and said: "We need to invest more money on players - that is part of the project. If we do that, it will be fantastic as we all want success. Everyone is looking forward to that happening and I am sure we will be better next season."
