Zarate salvages Blues point

Published Add your comment

On-loan Argentinian striker Mauro Zarate rescued a precious 1-1 draw for Alex McLeish´s Birmingham with a stunning free-kick equaliser against Everton at St Andrews.

Joleon Lescott looked to have kept alive the Toffees´ push for a Champions League spot with a 78th-minute header for his ninth goal of the season.

But five minutes later Zarate hammered a 20-yard drive past Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard to salvage a share of the spoils for the home side.
