Liverpool stole a precious away goal and fought for their lives to achieve a 1-1 draw against an Arsenal side who flowed forward with quality and class.

This Champions League quarter-final first leg clash was evenly contested - and the Merseysiders will believe they can finish the job next Tuesday in the second leg at Anfield.

Emmanuel Adebayor headed Arsenal ahead after 22 minutes but a brilliant run from Steven Gerrard set up Dirk Kuyt for his sixth European goal of the season.
