Cardiff shock sorry Boro

Published Add your comment

Cardiff midfielder Peter Whittingham produced a stunning finish in a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough to set his side on their way to a fairytale FA Cup semi-final trip to Wembley.

Whittingham curled a ninth-minute shot past the helpless Mark Schwarzer to pave the way for another major shock, and defender Roger Johnson completed the job with a 22nd-minute diving header.

Boro were awful and mustered little at the other end - Stewart Downing´s 61st-minute free-kick, which flew just over the bar, representing their best effort.
