Liam Brady has agreed a two-year deal to become an assistant to new Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni.

Brady, who played under Trapattoni in the early 1980s at Juventus, met with the 68-year-old Italian to discuss the situation last week.

He will combine his new role with his job as Arsenal´s head of youth development after being given permission by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
