O´Neill set for summer spree?

Martin O´Neill has admitted he must strengthen his Aston Villa squad this summer after defying the odds to challenge for a European spot with the smallest squad in the Barclays Premier League.

Villa are just three points adrift of fourth-placed Everton in the hunt for a Champions League spot but, after only managing to recruit Wayne Routledge in January, O´Neill knows he will have to add to his squad to maintain a long term challenge.

"We´ve been amazing in the sense that we don´t have a big squad and we wouldn´t have been able to cope with a lot of things such as more games and injuries," he said.
