Liverpool moved back into fourth place in the Barclays Premier League thanks to a Fernando Torres hat-trick in a 3-2 win over Middlesbrough.

Boro were ahead early on through a Tuncay Sanli header, but Torres struck twice in two minutes to put Liverpool ahead at the break, becoming the first Anfield forward to hit 20 in a season for five years.

He bagged a third on the hour before Stewart Downing got Boro´s second with seven minutes left but the visitors lost Jeremie Aliadiere soon after, red-carded after an incident with Javier Mascherano.
