Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has challenged his players to reproduce the form shown against the top three in the Barclays Premier League when they visit fellow strugglers Sunderland on Tuesday night.

Blues shared the spoils at Arsenal and suffered only single goal defeats against Manchester United at Old Trafford and at home to Chelsea in their last three league games. Now they take on the Black Cats and then play host to bottom placed Derby on Saturday with McLeish looking for repeat performances.

The former Scotland boss said: "The players know how important this game is. We have fared well against some of the best teams in the league and we want to take that into this game."
