Bolton got off to a winning start in 2008 in what could be Nicolas Anelka´s last match for the club with a 1-0 win over Derby.

Strongly linked with a move to Chelsea on the day of the game, he played his part in a victory that could be so important come the end of the season. He looks set to be leaving a club whose standards slipped dramatically in the last calendar year.

Bolton managed only eight victories in 37 Premier League games, so there was something to celebrate at the Reebok Stadium thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Stelios Giannakopoulos in front of 17,014 fans, the club´s lowest ever crowd for a top flight game at the stadium.
