Manager Avram Grant admitted to reading his Chelsea players the riot act at half-time of the Blues´ 2-1 victory at Fulham.

The normally mild-mannered Israeli was furious after watching his side struggle against the Cottagers, and they responded to Danny Murphy´s 10th-minute penalty with goals from Salomon Kalou and Michael Ballack.

"I was not happy with the first half. We needed to do what was necessary to win the game because in the first half we didn´t play well," said Grant. "At half-time, when you see the players are slipping, you need to wake them."
