Sir Alex Ferguson thinks Roy Keane has given himself the best chance possible of succeeding in the management game.

Sunderland boss Keane got his UEFA coaching badges while he was still captain of Manchester United.

Speaking ahead of the Boxing Day clash between Sunderland and United, Ferguson said: "Roy was doing his badges two years before he quit. That was a wise move. When they are still playing, the lads have time on their hands."
