Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is hoping the imminent arrival of Shakhtar Donetsk striker Nery Castillo on loan can help him shake off the Carling Cup blues.

City´s proud unbeaten home record, stretching over 10 games, ended 2-0 at the hands of Tottenham in Tuesday night´s quarter-final.

Castillo looked on after dipping into own pocket to secure a year-long move - beginning next month - and Eriksson said : "I have never heard of a player taking this action before. I have not been involved in the details but that says everything about how keen he is to come here."
