Plymouth have confirmed they will hold a board meeting on Friday after Ian Holloway tendered his resignation on Wednesday.

The 44-year-old took over at Home Park in the summer of 2006 and led the Pilgrims to an 11th-placed finish in his first season. This term, Holloway has guided the club to seventh place but has recently been linked with the vacant position at Coca-Cola Championship rivals Leicester.

A club statement on the club´s official website, www.pafc.co.uk, read: "Plymouth Argyle confirm that Ian Holloway has tendered his resignation as manager of the club."
