David Moyes has thanked Alan Irvine for his Everton service as assistant manager.

Irvine moved to Preston this week after more than five years on Merseyside as Moyes´ right-hand man.

He leaves with the blessing of the Toffees boss, who said: "He did a very good job for us, and the opportunity to go to Preston was one that I wouldn´t want to deny him."
