Birmingham are set to start their hunt for a successor to Steve Bruce in circumstances Blues goalkeeper Maik Taylor admits are hardly ideal for the Barclays Premier League club.

Bruce will sign a four-year contract with Wigan after deciding to walk away from St Andrews having failed to gain the required guarantees over his future from prospective new owner Carson Yeung - and, with the future of Bruce´s assistant Eric Black still unclear, Taylor says the confusion is affecting his team.

Taylor said: "As much as you want to try to focus on the playing side, it is hard not to be aware of what is going on. It has been unsettling but we are pros, we have to get our heads down."
