Blues battle back to see off Foxes

Published Add your comment

Chelsea staged a sensational Carling Cup escape winning 4-3 after Leicester came within minutes of dumping the holders out of the competition.

Shevchenko fired an 87th-minute equaliser and then his injury-time shot appeared to be deflected into the net by Belletti after City had given them an almighty scare.

Chelsea had led at the interval after two goals from England midfielder Frank Lampard had cancelled out Gareth McAuley´s sixth-minute goal but Leicester stormed with two goals in five second half minutes from substitute Dudley Campbell and Carl Cort.
