Toffees ease past Derby

Published Add your comment

Ayegbeni Yakubu showed flashes of the form which persuaded David Moyes to part with more than £11million as Everton returned to winning ways beating Derby 2-0 at Pride Park.

Yakubu´s clever first-half dummy played in Mikel Arteta to sweep home the simplest of 26th-minute openers, then he got on the scoresheet himself with a left-foot drive past Stephen Bywater.

Dismal Derby seldom troubled visiting goalkeeper Tim Howard and were left to reflect on another performance which suggests their prospects of survival are slim.
