Chelsea manager Avram Grant felt the Champions League triumph over Valencia was a vindication of his attempt to find "another way" of playing after the departure of Jose Mourinho.

The Blues recovered from going a goal down early on to win thanks to goals from Joe Cole and Didier Drogba after going four Premier League games without scoring and Grant believes this result could be the catalyst for better times ahead.

He said: "I think Chelsea fans will be very happy with not only the result but with the way we played, which is very important to me. I am very pleased because I feel it is the start of a new good way,"
