Giggs talks from experience

Published Add your comment

Ryan Giggs has a cheery message for those Manchester United youngsters consumed by bad publicity in the wake of Wednesday´s Carling Cup horror show against Coventry - intense criticism need not necessarily harm your career.

Back in January 2003, during a Carling Cup tie with Blackburn, Giggs was booed by his own fans when he was replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the culmination of a poor run of form. Yet it is that period which should give the fledglings trying to follow in his path cause for optimism.

"When I was actually getting the stick it wasn´t so enjoyable but when I look back now, it was actually one of my favourite seasons," he said.
