Coppell: It was an important win

Published Add your comment

Reading manager Steve Coppell was delighted with his side´s 2-1 victory over Wigan even though it had been less than convincing.

A late strike from James Harper lifted the Royals out of the relegation zone after Marcus Bent´s first Latics strike had cancelled out Dave Kitson´s first-half opener.

"It was a massive goal for us and came at a stage in the game when if anyone was going to win it, it was them," admitted Coppell.
