Substitute Liam Miller snatched a precious point for Sunderland with a last-minute equaliser as Middlesbrough were made to pay for missed chances.

Miller struck with seconds remaining just as it looked as though Stewart Downing´s 67th-minute piledriver had won the day.

Grant Leadbitter had opened the scoring for the Black Cats after just 45 seconds, but Julio Arca, who was later carried off, levelled against his former club on 14 minutes.
