Bolton defender Jlloyd Samuel has been ruled out for six weeks after scan results revealed the left-back tore his hamstring in Saturday´s 1-0 defeat to Birmingham.

The former Aston Villa defender, 26, sustained the injury while sprinting for the ball midway through the second half and is unlikely to return before the start of November.

Team-mate Ricardo Gardner recovered from a similar injury to replace him after two months out and the Jamaica international is likely to make his first start of the season against FK Rabotnicki of Macedonia in the UEFA Cup on Thursday.
