Injury blow for Republic

Goalkeeper Wayne Henderson and winger Alan O´Brien have withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad for the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Slovakia and Czech Republic.

Henderson has a back injury which kept him out of Preston´s defeat by Coventry while O´Brien injured his ankle in Hibernian´s victory against Inverness.

Meanwhile Under-21s manager Don Givens has called up Ipswich midfielder Owen Garvan for the European Championship qualifier against Portugal on Friday at Turner´s Cross.
