Sheffield Wednesday have completed the signing of Port Vale striker Akpo Sodje from Port Vale on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old handed in a transfer request at Vale Park on Wednesday after the Owls and Scunthorpe had bids rejected for him earlier this week.

Owls manager Brian Laws said: "Akpo is a big, powerful striker and will give us plenty of extra ammunition in attack this season. We have been creating plenty of chances in recent games and I feel that Akpo is the kind of player who can convert those opportunities."
