Davies hoping for Feilhaber clearance

Derby manager Billy Davies is banking on £1million midfielder signing Benny Feilhaber gaining international clearance to face Tottenham at White Hart Lane this weekend.

Feilhaber joined the Rams on a three-year contract from Hamburg on Wednesday but was ineligible for the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City at Eastlands, the 22-year-old restricted to a warm-up session with his new team-mates.

Davies is nonetheless confident the America international will be allowed to make his debut against Spurs, saying: "We need the international clearance before 5pm Friday, but I am optimistic we will receive the paperwork in time."
