Eriksson keen on signing new keeper

Published Add your comment

Sven-Goran Eriksson is determined to have a new goalkeeper at Manchester City ahead of Wednesday´s Barclays Premier League clash with newly-promoted Derby at Eastlands.

With Sweden international Andreas Isaksson sidelined with a broken finger, Eriksson was forced to hand Kasper Schmeichel his senior debut at West Ham on Saturday.

"It is right that we bring in a new goalkeeper and a new one will arrive shortly," said the Swede. "We have two very good young goalkeepers but I don´t think you should place so much responsibility on them at this time in their careers. Goalkeepers need experience."
