Chelsea transfer target Willian insists he still wants to join a ‘big club’ – despite Shakhtar Donetsk’s progress into the last 16 of the Champions League.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder was heavily linked with a move away from the Ukranian champions in the summer transfer window, with the Blues amongst a number of Premier League clubs linked with a move for the player.

However, former manager Roberto Di Matteo failed in his efforts to bring Willian to Stamford Bridge after a €25 million offer was made, according to the player.

"If I tell you that I was happy, I would be lying. My desire was there, with a €25million (£20.3m) offer from a big club like Chelsea. I wanted to pack my things and go, but I can't do that as I am under contract,” he told

"It shows how much Shakhtar like me and shows that I am doing a good job, which is why they wanted me to stay.”

Despite the change in manager at Chelsea, Willian is still interested in a move to west London, and motivating himself with the possibility of joining a top team in the not-to-distant future.

The two-cap international is also aware of interest from Juventus, and hopes the someone will meet the €30 million asking price now set by the club president at the Donbass Arena.

"I have tried to convince them many times to let me go. I know that Juventus and Chelsea have made offers to buy me and that motivates me a lot,” he concluded.

"The club know that I want to leave, everyone knows that. The president has told me that he'll let me go for €30million (£24.4m) and my intention is to sign for a big club."
