Chelsea track Portuguese youngster
Bruno Almeida attracting interest from Chelsea, Sporting Lisbon and Atletico Madrid
According to Portuguese paper A Bola, Chelsea are interested in signing 16-year-old starlet Bruno Almeida, tipped as the next big thing to come out of Portugal. Although relatively unknown to many, the young teenager has caught the eye of some of Europe's biggest clubs as he continues his football development.
Almeida started his career as a futsal star before he switched his attention to playing the more familiar format of the game - football. Currently learning his trade with the youth team of Portuguese third division outfit Padroense, the sought-after youngster is believed to have attracted admiring glances from the likes of Sporting Lisbon and Benfica, who have joined the likes of Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Anderlecht in registering their interest.
FIFA agent Joao Carlos Pinheiro has admitted that some of Europe's elite are vying for Almeida's signature in a bid to secure the long-term future of the attacking prodigy.
According to the Portuguese press, Almeida is equally as comfortable playing 'in the hole' as a number 10 or out wide on the right-hand side of midfield.
