Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has a number of injury concerns heading into this home fixture against Premier League strugglers Reading.
The Manchester City boss will have to do without Samir Nasri, who could unavailable until the New Year with a groin complaint, Mario Balotelli (virus) and Aleksandar Kolarov (knee).
Club captain Vincent Kompany is also a major doubt with a groin injury. But Mancini will be able to recall James Milner and Gareth Barry - the England pair are fit to return after absence through injury.
City find themselves six points behind league leaders Manchester United, but with Sir Alex Ferguson's side not playing until Sunday, Mancini's men will look to apply some pressure on United by taking all three points from bottom-of-the-table Reading.
The Royals have lost their last six on the bounce, and it doesn't get much more difficult than a trip to the Etihad Stadium to face the Premier League champions. Few predict anything other than a home walkover.
But Reading demonstrated against Manchester United earlier this season that they can be a dangerous team going forward, although City will expect a comfortable victory - anything less would be a disaster following their derby defeat.
Here's their likely lineup for the visit of Brian McDermott's side.
Hart, Zabaleta, Nastasic, Toure (Kolo), Clichy, Garcia, Toure (Yaya), Silva, Sinclair, Aguero, Tevez
