Premier League preview: 22nd/23rd December

Wigan and Arsenal kick-off this weekend’s Premier League action, with both sides desperate for victory for differing reasons.

Roberto Martinez’s side are in the relegation zone and need a win to get out of the bottom three, whilst the Gunners are chasing victory to get back into the mix for Champions League places.

Reading face a daunting trip to Manchester City as they look to get back in touch at the bottom of the table, although Roberto Mancini’s side are eager to close the gap on their local rivals at the top of the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur host Stoke City in another intriguing three o’clock kick-off, whilst Norwich look to continue their great form away at West Bromwich Albion.

Newcastle will be looking to improve when Harry Redknapp’s resurgent QPR travel to St James’ Park, whilst Everton make the trip to West Ham United and relegation favourites Southampton host Sunderland.

Liverpool meet Fulham in the late kick-off on Saturday, before a Super Sunday featuring both Manchester United and Chelsea.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side travel to face Swansea City, before Aston Villa make the trip to Stamford Bridge in the final weekend clash.
