Sir Alex Ferguson has described the signing of Robin van Persie as an 'early Christmas present' for Manchester United.

Van Persie has scored 15 goals for Manchester United since his summer transfer from Arsenal.

Daniel Sturridge is reportedly set to receive a £1.5 million 'golden goodbye' from Chelsea as he closes in on a transfer to Liverpool. (Daily Mail)
