Paris Saint Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed his belief that Brazil legend Ronaldo was the greatest player ever.

The Sweden captain was speaking in an interview with French television station beIn Sport when he admitted his favourite player as a young man was the World Cup’s record goalscorer and responded with the now retired star when asked whom he thought the greatest ever was.

The 31-year-old feels Ronaldo was the first superstar in a new age of speed and strength in football and inspired a generation of young stars that are now leading the way.

“For me it is The Fenomeno. What Ronaldo did for football was amazing,” he said in the interview above.

“He represented a football which I think ever young player thought ‘if I wanted to be like somebody’, I look at Ronaldo.

“The way he played was amazing, amazing. He was complete. His speed, everything seemed to him to be easy.”

Ibrahimovic is probably inspiring a few youngsters himself with the almost weekly outrageous skills and spectacular goals.

This year he scored a goal Ronaldo would have been proud of when he volleyed in a bicycle kick from all of 40 yards and at an angle in a friendly win over England in Stockholm.
