Totenham Hotspur travel to Aston Villa today sitting in sixth place in the Premier League table, one of four teams currently tied on 30 points.

Having taken 13 points from their last six games, Andre Villas-Boas's side will be in confident mood ahead of their Boxing Day clash, and also boast an impressive record at Villa Park.

Spurs have not lost there since New Year's Day in 2008, and also beat Paul Lambert's side 2-0 during the reverse fixture at White Hart Lane in October.

Villas-Boas will be concerned with Tottenham's recent away form this campaign, though, with just a solitary victory and three defeats from their last four outings.

Clint Dempsey remains a doubt for the game after he missed Saturday's draw against Stoke with a groin problem, joining long-term absentee Younes Kaboul on the Spurs sidelines.

However, the players could be boosted by the return of Benoit Assou-Ekotto, who has been out with a knee injury, while Scott Parker might also make his first start of the season after coming off the bench in the last two games following his recovery from an Achilles injury.

Tottenham Hotspur starting XI:

Lloris; Walker, Caulker, Gallas, Vertonghen; Sandro, Parker; Lennon, Dembele, Bale; Defoe.
