Manchester United and Tottenham target Sneijder available for £8 million
Manchester United and Tottenham news: Wesley Sneijder available for €8m
Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder could be available for as little as £8 million in the January transfer window.
Sneijder has fallen from grace at the San Siro and looks to be on his way out of Inter in the January transfer window after the club tried and failed to renegotiate his contract in order to lower their wage bill.
The Dutch international hasn’t featured for Inter since September and was sent home early for Christmas, while his wife also hinted they were preparing to leave Milan soon.
Tottenham have been heavily linked with the talented playmaker while Manchester United have an historical interest in him, prompting speculation he could be heading to the Premier League in the new year.
According to Gazetta dello Sport, Inter are willing to let Sneijder leave for as little as £8 million in order to get him off the wage bill, but will try and hold out for £12 million.
The Italian paper also claims however that Sneijder’s exit in January is not certain, and he could stay until the summer and be sold then, while there is also a chance he could stay put if the wage bill can be lowered by the sale of other players.
Over the festive period rumours surfaced that Tottenham had agreed terms with Sneijder and were looking to agree a fee with Inter ahead of the January transfer window, something that his since been denied by the player’s agent.
Manchester United have been credited with an interest in the 28-year-old since 2010.
The Red Devils came close to landing Sneijder in 2010 but the move collapsed at the last minute, although whether they are still keen on taking the former Real Madrid man to Old Trafford now remains to be seen.
