Preston have completed the signing of West Brom midfielder Darren Carter for a fee that could rise to £1.25million.
The 23-year-old former Birmingham man has cost North End an initial £750,000 to become manager Paul Simpson´s fourth summer signing.
He moved to the Hawthorns for £1.5million in the summer of 2005, but a raft of midfield signings at the Hawthorns this summer has seen him move down the pecking order.
