Roma are reportedly considering a move for Manchester United winger Luis Nani during the January transfer window, amid supposed interest in the Portuguese from Arsenal.

According to Goal.com, Roma view Nani as the ideal addition as they look to sign a winger next month, and the 26-year-old looks increasingly likely to leave Manchester United.

Roma are reportedly hoping to acquire the services of Nani on a six-month loan agreement, with the option of purchasing him from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

The Serie A club may, however, have to contest with Arsenal in their pursuit of Nani, with reports on Tuesday claiming Arsene Wenger was also keen on the former Sporting CP attacker.

Arsenal are far from lacking in the winger department, but the inconsistent form of Gervinho and the uncertain future of Theo Walcott may encourage Wenger to launch a swoop for Nani.

In another twist to the saga, Manchester United have been linked with a move for Walcott, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Although Arsenal may accept allowing Walcott to leave the Emirates Stadium, it would surely come as a crushing blow if he followed Robin van Persie in moving to Manchester United.
