Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson will add a goalkeeper to his list of summer acquisitions after learning first-choice Andreas Isaksson is set to miss the first month of the new season.

The Sweden stopper has sustained a hairline fracture of the thumb, and with understudy Joe Hart also injured, Eriksson has revealed he is unwilling to begin the Barclays Premier League campaign with the inexperienced Kasper Schmeichel.

"Unfortunately we had two goalkeepers get injured within two days," Eriksson told club website "It´s not the best way to start the Premier League, starting with two very young goalkeepers. We will look at it on Monday. Unfortunately it´s more or less a must that we bring another keeper in."
