Southend chairman Ron Martin has denied that Wolves have agreed to sign Freddy Eastwood, insisting that Charlton are still in the race to buy the striker.

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey had claimed to have finalised details of the move and that Eastwood would sign a four-year contract at Molineux after passing a medical with the club earlier on Wednesday. But Martin has refuted that claim and insists the player´s future is not yet resolved.

He told www.southendunited.co.uk: "The club allowed Freddy Eastwood to speak to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday afternoon. However what Wolves have subsequently announced on Wednesday is incorrect. We have not agreed to accept any offer for Freddy."
