Blackburn chairman John Williams was relieved to have finally secured the services of Maceo Rigters after the Dutch striker signed for Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

The Premiership club had been following the progress of the 23-year-old for some time and the NAC Breda forward agreed a four-year deal after a passing a medical at Ewood Park on Monday.

Williams told PA Sport: "We have been following him for some time after Mark Hughes identified him as a player he would be interested in."
