West Brom have rejected a transfer request from skipper and central defender Curtis Davies.

The England Under-21 player, who is recovering from a broken metatarsal, has made it clear he sees his future in the Barclays Premier League, but Albion boss Tony Mowbray insisted the former Luton player will only be allowed to leave if an interested club makes an offer the Baggies find it impossible to refuse.

He said: "I have had a conversation with Curtis and he´s sensible enough to realise the price has got to be right for us to even consider letting him go."
