Latics´ Berger bid foiled

Published Add your comment

Oldham have failed in their audacious attempt to bring Aston Villa´s Patrik Berger to Boundary Park.

The League One side recently confirmed they were trying to bring the former Czech Republic international to the club on loan after reports that Villa boss Martin O´Neill was happy to let Berger go out on loan.

But talks with the Premiership club have now broken down and managing director Simon Corney told the club´s official website: "Obviously this turn of events is a disappointment and it didn´t work out this time but we´ll be pursuing other avenues."
