Ryan Giggs left the Millennium Stadium red-eyed after his Wales farewell in the goalless draw against the Czech Republic, but with confidence for the future and faith in Craig Bellamy to wear the captain´s armband with distinction.

The Manchester United star, after 64 caps from 16 years of international football, aims to concentrate all his efforts now on the last season of his Old Trafford career.

He said: "This performance was the benchmark for the side. The defence didn´t give them a kick, the midfield worked really hard and everybody did their bit, from Wayne (Hennessey) right through to Bellers (Craig Bellamy), it was a fine team performance."
