Paris St Germain rule out move for Cristiano Ronaldo

Paris St Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has downplayed any chance of his team signing Cristiano Ronaldo, according to Sky Sports.

The former-Chelsea manager admitted that the Ligue 1 club have almost no chance of bringing the Portuguese international to France. Ronaldo is reportedly unhappy at the Bernabeu – he has been since his 2 September declaration following the Granada game – and Manchester United and PSG have been linked with moves for the disgruntled forward.

But it now seems Ancelotti is ruling his side out, leaving the path clear for a return to Manchester, should Sir Alex Ferguson raise the funds required, and should Ronaldo want to head back to his former club – a club where he won his only Ballon d’Or in 2008.

“Any chance of [Ronaldo] coming here does not exist,” Ancelotti told La Stampa. “Money is not sufficient. The deciding factor is the will of the club that he plays for.

“He is a great talent who needs to play regularly. I like players with great quality and I have that.

“What I have read in the newspapers makes no sense. With Lucas Moura we will have 30 players and I do not need any more.”

Sky Sports quote reports from the international media which have claimed that the PSG hierarchy are lining up a sensational double swoop for Real Madrid pair Jose Mourinho and Ronaldo. But Ancelotti has revealed he doesn’t fear the looming spectre of the ‘Special One’.

“I am very calm,” Ancelotti added. “The person that said that about him and Cristiano Ronaldo is a member of the Al Thani family, not the owner. The owner is not thinking like that.”
