Arsenal defender target Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has admitted he wants a move to the Premier League – but would favour a switch to Manchester United.
Arsenal were heavily linked with the French defender over the summer and were said to be ready to revive their interest in the January transfer window.
Although Arsenal are well stocked in defence, Arsene Wenger is believed to be a long-term admirer of the versatile Montpellier centre-back and is said to be eyeing a move to take the 23-year-old to the Emirates in the new year.
However Yanga-Mbiwa, who is also said to be a target for AC Milan, says he dreams of making the move to Old Trafford to play for Manchester United.
"My dream is to play with the shirt of Manchester United in a match in Old Trafford. My favourite club is United without doubt,” he told France Football.
"When I sleep I dream of scoring a decisive goal with my head at a corner. That would be very beautiful."
With Montpellier out of the Champions League and struggling to defend their Ligue 1 crown, speculation has been rife that the talented defender could leave France - although he penned a new contract with Montpellier in November.
Arsenal secured the signature of Yanga-Mbiwa’s Montpellier team-mate Olivier Giroud last summer.
