Davis suffered last season - O´Neill

Published Add your comment

Aston Villa midfielder Steven Davis suffered from "second-season syndrome" last term, according to manager Martin O´Neill.

O´Neill is rumoured to be ready to offload the Northern Ireland international, who was Villa´s Player Of The Year the previous campaign. That was his first full season for the club, during which he was even linked with a move to Manchester United.

O´Neill said: "Did Steven Davis suffer from second-season syndrome? You would be right to say that. He had a really good first season and found the going a bit more difficult this season just gone."
