McFadden out of Scotland matches

Published Add your comment

Scotland have been dealt a blow with the news James McFadden has been forced to withdraw from their forthcoming matches against Austria and the Faroe Islands.

National team boss Alex McLeish had hoped to have the 24-year-old Everton forward available for next week´s friendly in Vienna, followed by the crucial Euro 2008 qualifier in the Faroe Islands.

McFadden missed McLeish´s first two games in charge, the double header against Georgia and Italy, with a broken metatarsal and now the foot injury looks set to keep him on the sidelines for a while longer, meaning Scotland will have to do without their talismanic striker once again.
