Injury-plagued Aston Villa striker Chris Sutton will delay deciding whether to retire until later this summer.

The 34-year-old missed the final five months of the season with an eye problem and was widely predicted to call time on a career which has taken in clubs including Chelsea, Blackburn and Celtic.

But Villa manager Martin O´Neill insists Sutton will consult his family before making up his mind, telling the club´s official website www.avfc.co.uk: "He´s had the final reports back from another specialist and doesn´t want to make a definite decision yet. There´s no rush, he can talk it over with his family and see how things stand later this summer."
