Goalless at Gay Meadow

Published Add your comment

Martin Allen´s disappointing play-off record continued as his side failed to break down Shrewsbury in the first leg of their Coca-Cola League Two semi-final.

After two unsuccessful campaigns with Brentford in the past two years this was Allen´s fifth play-off match as a manager - and he remains yet to win one after a goalless draw in the final ever game at Gay Meadow.

The extra class of Allen´s side was evident as they created a host of clear-cut chances but failed to convert their dominance into a lead ahead of Friday´s second leg at the National Hockey Stadium.
